The Hellenic Initiative is pleased to announce that Mrs. Marianna V. Vardinoyannis has joined the organization’s Board of Directors serving also on its Executive Committee. The longstanding commitment of Mrs. Vardinoyannis to enhance and change the lives of those in need through the “ELPIDA” Association of Friends of Children with cancer and through the Bone Marrow Donor Registry “ORAMA ELPIDAS”, presents a profoundly inspiring initiative, demonstrating that through determination and power of will there are no limits to what philanthropy can achieve.

One of the primary commitments of THI has always been crisis relief, primarily when the adverse effects of the crisis disproportionately target children. Throughout the years, The Hellenic Initiative has catalytically assisted organizations, which aimed at supporting Greek society in its recovery. By aiding initiatives that find an innovative solution to tangibly solve a problem for the country, THI has a longstanding record of standing side by side with NGO’s and start-ups, to help them in their service towards society.

The Hellenic Initiative and the Associations “ELPIDA” and “ORAMA ELPIDAS” have joined forces many times in the past, to serve the domestic community, with programs such as the “ELPIDA Youth” Summer Camp.

Through her work with “ELPIDA”, “ORAMA ELPIDAS”  as well as through the “Marianna V. Vardinoyannis Foundation”, and her mission as UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, Mrs. Vardinoyannis is a shining example of altruism and philanthropy. The impeccable track record of her organizations demonstrates the tangible contribution she has made towards Greek society.

The Hellenic Initiative is looking forward to Mrs Vardinoyannis contribution to the promotion of THI’s mission.

Andrew N. Liveris, THI Chairman, stated: “We in THI are delighted to welcome Mrs. Marianna V. Vardinoyannis to our Board of Directors. The Hellenic Initiative shares Mrs. Vardinoyannis’ commitment to improving the lives of our fellow Greeks, especially the youth of our country.”

George P. Stamas, THI Board President, stated: “ Whether struck by disease or by the harsh reality of the crisis, children present the future of this country and symbolize the hope which both THI and “ELPIDA” aspire to instill in Greek society.”

Marianna V. Vardinoyannis, stated:  “Ιt is a great honor for me to become a part of this great venture.  I am confident that with joint forces we can contribute to our country’s future”.
