The plan to create an Archaeological Museum in Ermioni was put up today in an online discussion held under the Minister of Culture and Sports, Mrs. Lina Mendoni.

Mrs. Marianna V. Vardinoyannis, President of the “Marianna V. Vardinoyannis Foundation” attended the teleconference, as well as the Mayor of Ermionida Mr. Ioannis Georgopoulos and the Curator of Antiquities of Argolida Mrs. Alkistis Papadimitriou, who briefly presented the history of Ermionida, “following”, as she quoted, “faithfully the steps of Pausanias”.

On Thursday, November 12th 2020, Mrs. Marianna V. Vardinoyannis, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador and member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of The Hellenic Initiative, participated in The THI Annual Gala 2020 which was held virtually.

 The Hellenic Initiative, one of the most important organizations of the Greek diaspora, held the Annual Gala 2020, aiming to support people in Greece living in extreme vulnerability due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and managed to raise more than 1.6 million dollars.

Mrs. Marianna V. Vardinoyannis, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, participated in the two-day virtual Summit of the “Laureates and Leaders for Children” Organization, founded by Kailash Satyarthi, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, which was held on Thursday, September 10, 2020.

The aim of the Summit, which was attended by leaders, Nobel laureates, activists and leading international personalities, was to highlight in the most urgent way the rapidly emerging global crisis of children’s rights arising from the COVID-19 pandemic and to find appropriate solutions to confront it.

The President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, conferred the Grand Cross of the Order of Beneficence on UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Marianna Vardinoyannis.

The President of the Republic delivered the following address:

Marianna Vardinoyannis had the opportunity in her life to make safer and more personal choices. However, she chose the path of giving, focusing initially on children, and then on the crucial matter of human rights. I would like, in particular, to underscore her work with the ELPIDA Foundation for children’s cancer, which has already been operating for 30 years.
