The International Meeting “PARTHENON: The Integrity of a Symbolic Monument -The Role of Citizens-An International Campaign” was organized by the “Marianna V. Vardinoyannis Foundation” in cooperation with “Melina Mercouri Foundation”, at the Acropolis Museum on 26th of June, 2014. This meeting is the first step of the new international campaign for the Reunification of Parthenon Sculptures, called “Return-Restore-Restart”.
UNESCOs Good Will Ambassador, Ms. Marianna V. Vardinoyannis, in a press conference held on June 24th, 2014, in the Acropolis Museum, announced the launch of the new International Campaign for the Reunification of Parthenon Marbles, titled RETURN (the marbles), RESTORE (Parthenon), RESTART (history).
On the 20th of March 2014, at the Children’s Oncology Unit “Marianna V. Vardinoyannis-ELPIDA”, the official opening of the Bone Marrow Donor Bank “ORAMA ELPIDAS” was held in the presence of representatives of the Church, the State, the diplomatic world, the scientific community, members of the Association of Friends of Children with cancer “ELPIDA”, friends and supporters of the Association.
